A connector presses buttons. adherd runs the workflow.
Generic ads connectors, including Meta’s own Ads MCP server, let an AI agent create and edit campaigns, ad sets and ads one operation at a time. adherd is built for the workflows around those operations, and for checking that they happened.
Operations are free. Workflows are not.
A generic ads connector lets an AI press buttons. adherd knows which buttons, in what order, and checks the result.
What the difference looks like.
Workflows, not single calls
A creative drop, a launch from the best ad set, a copy, a rescue: each is one request that carries the buying logic, not a sequence of API calls the AI has to get right.
A plan before any write
You see was → will be for every object. The confirmation is bound to that exact plan by its hash, so only what you saw can run.
Paused until verified
New objects are created paused, read back field by field, and only clean ones are switched on.
Safe retries
Every object carries a unique key in its name, so a lost response from Meta is found instead of created twice.
One queue per account
Two jobs on the same ad account wait for each other instead of colliding.
Daily limits and a kill switch
Caps on new ad sets, ads, activations and budget growth per account, and one sentence that freezes automation.
Rules that run without the chat
Stop-loss, scaling and midnight resets every 15 minutes on our servers, with observe mode and a 7-day backtest.
Team controls
Four roles, per-account access for buyers and an append-only audit log.
Creative mechanics
Copy, link and UTMs from the template ad, 1:1 and 9:16 paired by placement, Advantage+ creative off by default.
When a generic connector is enough.
They are free, and for some jobs they are the right tool.
- You run campaign budgets (CBO), Advantage+ campaigns, lifetime budgets or dynamic creative. adherd does not support them.
- You need to create campaigns, catalogs or A/B tests. adherd works inside existing campaigns.
- You make an occasional one-off edit or pull a report and do not need overnight rules, roles or an audit log.
